Mit grosser Betroffenheit erfuhr ich vom Tod meines Kollegen Prof. Landwehr. Er war sehr eng mit dieser Fakultät verbunden, die er über viele Jahre hinweg aufbaute und die er stark prägte. Auch im hohen Alter war er bei vielen Anlässen präsent,
wodurch wir Jüngeren die Gelegenheit zum Gedankenaustausch mit ihm erhielten. Sein hellwacher, brillanter Forschergeist in Verbindung mit seiner menschlichen Güte machen ihn zu einem wahrhaft Großen unter den Physikern.
Meine Anteilnahme und tiefes Mitgefühl gelten den Angehörigen.

Mit Prof. Landwehr hat die Fakultät einen große Persönlichkeit verloren. Er hat über viele Jahre die Fakultät geprägt und sich engagiert. Die Fakultät wird diesem großen Forscher ein bleibendes Andenken bewahren.

We had got very sad news from Wuerzburg that Professor Gottfried Landwehr has passed away on January 24th. We commiserate with all the people, all the colleagues who knew this Great Person! He was a Honorary Member of the Ioffe Institute.
His colleagues and friends at the Ioffe Institute will always remember with great pleasure and appreciation many years of creative and fruitful collaboration between numerous groups and laboratories of our institute and Landwehr’s laboratory at the Wuerzburg University. With special warmth we remember time spent in Wuerzburg, where Prof. Landwehr gave us a lot as the Teacher in physics and life. We pass our cordial condolences to his near relatives and colleagues.

The team of our laboratory and myself have been deeply shaken by the news of Prof. Landwehr’s decease. Professor Landwehr was a honorary member of the Ioffe Institute. For very long years he was a great friend of our laboratory and he did much good to the Institute’s benefit. We’ll miss that brilliant scientist and very good man badly, and his memory will live for ever in our hearts. Please give our deep condolences to Prof. Landwehr’s family.
