Teaching Degree Physics Special Education Didactics Subject (Stex. 10/15/20 ECTS)

Career Goals and Fields of Activity

Career opportunities as a teacher

As many teachers will be retiring from teaching in the coming years, the need for physics teachers will continue to exist. The chances of being hired as a teacher are still very good for physics, especially in the subject combination with computer science and mathematics.

As part of the teacher training course with physics as the main subject, graduates can also obtain a Bachelor of Science, which opens up further professional fields for them.

Further career opportunities

Graduates of the teacher training course with physics as a teaching subject have a wide range of other employment opportunities in addition to the teaching profession, as they have acquired the ability to analyze and solve complex problems during their studies. This allows them to quickly familiarize themselves with less familiar topics. The additional skills they have acquired in passing on knowledge to others enable them to take up jobs in the field of science communication and/or consulting, particularly in combination with their specialist expertise.

Despite changing economic conditions, the opportunities on the job market for graduates with a degree in physics as a teaching subject are very good and have remained so for a long time.

Qualification Goals

The teacher training program in special education is linked to the

  •     study of “Didactics of Primary School”

or with the

  •     study of the “Didactics of a subject group at middle school”

must be combined.

Within this degree course, physics can be chosen as one of the three didactic subjects.

The qualification objectives of the corresponding type of school for the course as a didactic subject also apply to this part of the teacher training course in special education.
