"Metal Halide Perovskites – Beyond Photovoltaics"
Date: 11/02/2023, 4:15 PM - 6:00 PM
Category: Kolloquium
Location: Hubland Süd, Geb. P1 (Physik), HSP P (Röntgen HS)
Organizer: SFB 1170 ToCoTronics
Speaker: Yana Vaynzof - IFW Dresden

Metal halide perovskites emerged as a remarkable class of semiconducting materials of interest for a broad range of applications. While the vast majority of research efforts are dedicated to their processing from solution, metal halide perovskites can also be deposited by thermal evaporation. It is a solvent-free, scalable method of high industrial relevance offering high throughput, homogeneity, material economy, safety, yield and controllability. In the first part of this talk, I will present a range of applications in which the utilization of vapor deposited perovskites offers clear advantages to their processing from solution.[1-4] In the second half of the talk, I will discuss how it is possible to trigger chiroptical activity in metal halide perovskites and focus on the importance of processing and structuring.[5-6]
