"Hall viscosity in strongly coupled fluids"

Hall viscosity is the analog of Hall conductivity for shear stress. In general, it can be nonzero whenever time reversal and parity are
 broken in a 2+1 dimensional system, for instance in the presence of an external magnetic field. However, in strongly coupled fluids
 with a holographic dual description the Hall viscosity was found to be zero, which is at odds with attempts to use holography to
 describe Fractional Quantum Hall systems. In this talk I explain how the holographic model can be modified to accommodate for
 a nonzero Hall viscosity via higher derivative terms on the gravity side.
