Abstract:
After briefly presenting the Standard Model of particle physics, we focus in some detail on its deficiencies. These range from concrete experimental facts to more philosophical arguments of fine-tuning, and beauty. We then discuss a new numerical tool we have developed (CheckMATE), which makes it easier to quickly test a wide range of models against LHC data without performing a complete experimental analysis.
