The international Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop (iNOW) was established in 2006 in Berkeley and has since been hosted in China, Japan, Germany, the USA, France, and Russia. Last year, our chair proudly hosted the event in Würzburg. A poster prize competition has since then been part of the workshop.

Yorick Reum won the second prize in his session with his poster titled “Optimization of Circular Bragg Grating Resonators for Quantum Dot Photonic Cluster State Sources in the Telecom C-Band.” Matthias Sauter and Michael Sauer won the third and first prize, respectively, in their sessions. Matthias presented his research on “Using a hollow-core photonic crystal fiber for coupling to a micropillar cavity.” Michael impressed the jury with his poster and his pitch presentation on “GaSb Quantum Dot Single-Photon Emitters in the Telecom S-band Grown by Local Droplet Etching.”

The three winners express their thanks the local organizers of the workshop for planning and executing a fascinating, insightful, and very friendly 10-day workshop. Special gratitude goes to the organizing chairs, particularly to Connie Chang-Hasnain, Cun-Zheng Ning, and Lars Samuelson, as well as to the members of the poster committee.

Congrats to all three of you!
