Machine learning-based anomaly detection in high-energy physics
Machine learning has emerged as a powerful tool for anomaly detection in high-energy physics, enabling the identification of events that may signal deviations from the Standard Model. These techniques allow for less model-dependent searches and have been successfully applied to the analysis of LHC data. This talk will introduce the principles of anomaly detection and its role in particle physics. The focus will be on weakly supervised methods and their application to the search for new physics at the LHC.
