Würzburg Seminar on Quantum Field Theory and Gravity

The pillars of the Dark Universe (inflation, dark matter, dark energy) are introduced in simple terms without mathematics. Their possible connection to the Standard Model of elementary particles and string theory is outlined. Recent developments about black holes and gravitational waves, their possible origin in the early Universe and their possible contribution to dark matter are briefly discussed. The presentation is designed for non-experts.
